Macintosh HD/ Library/ Printers/ Brother/ Utilities/ Server/ NETserver.app. Step 4(macOS): Make sure your router allows communication on the network via Bonjour. A Firewall may be preventing the application. Configure the Firewall settings to allow the application below. Does the router support Bonjour communication? Hopefully I got all the translations right since I use a German OSX version. The OSX firewall is definitely pretty crappy. It is not very customizable and I dont think that Apple lets you turn of the 'application monitoring part' while leaving the port blocking part intact. (Please correct me if I am wrong). Double-click the Start Here OSX icon. If you have a problem finding the Start Here OSX icon, click Finder in the Dock and then click Applications → Utilities. Open the Disk Utility and double-click 'xxxxxxxx.dmg'. A new window will be opened and you will find the Start Here OSX icon.
- Double-click the Start Here OSX icon. If you receive a security prompt for NETserver.app, click Allow. When prompted, enter a 'Scan to' name for your Mac. This is the name that will be displayed on the machine's LCD to identify this computer when you scan from the button on the machine.
Follow the steps below to resolve the issue.
Step 1: Check the network connection
Check your Brother machine is available for network print.
If you cannot print, refer the FAQ listed below:

have no idea what NETserver is, but here is an article that says it is
a brother twain driver. I have a brother twain driver setup, but I don't
have any process running called NETserver.

Mac OS X v10.6 uses the mDNSResponder process for unicast DNS (Domain Name System)
functions, as well as Bonjour functions.
The syslogd server receives and processes log messages. Several modules receive input messages
through various channels, including UNIX domain sockets associated with the syslog(3), asl(3), and
kernel printf APIs, and optionally on a UDP socket from network clients.
